I love my macbookpro, but you are right that t isn't perfect. I am getting black lines appearing on the display that disappear when you scroll back and forth, but it is very annoying. The machine also freezes oh too regularly and I am not sure why...often when moving over the dock or when a menu in a n application drops down...

I've heard great things about VMWare Fusion, unfortunately I pulled the trigger on 5 parallels licenses for the company before I heard enough to evaluate it pre-purchase :)

Have you tried VMWare Fusion? I tried it and Parallels at the same time. Couldn't get Parallels to load, but have been as happy as a pig in mud since with Fusion.

Yeah, its not perfect, but still the best machine i've had (though I only said that in passing at the close of the post).

And i've been meaning to followup on the post as well. That big patch I talked about installed last week I think. From what I can tell, and I'm working the machine just as hard, the kernel panic and spaces bugs listed above are resolved.

I believe the kernel panics were mostly related to parallels (I often have 2 VMs running), and I haven't had a single panic since installing the patch so I am pretty happy about that.

Wow! I'm sorry to read that you have had so many problems with your MBP. After having several laptops for work or personal use (Dell & Sony) I've finally found the brand (& OS) for me. Found your site through PSTAM.com comments. Keep up the good articles. ~Rob
